Tiffin is delighted to announce that from September 2019, we will admit girls as well as boys into the Sixth Form, allowing the fantastic benefits and quality of Tiffin Sixth Form to be delivered within a mixed environment. Boys and girls are invited to apply for places by filling in the online application form, which is available on the website. We aim to admit around 80 new students each year to the Sixth Form, and we therefore expect about 40 per year to be girls, giving at least 80 girls in the Sixth Form overall, and representing approximately 20-25% of the total number of Sixth Formers.

Our Sixth Form Open Evening will be on Thursday 4 October 2018 when the academic and extra-curricular opportunities on offer at Tiffin's Sixth Form will be fully explained. Our website highlights the great opportunities at Tiffin, and will be regularly updated over the next few months. You can also follow developments on Twitter@Tiffin_School

German Exchange trip

8 February 2019 by

Sixteen intrepid students of German in Year 10 were brave enough to push themselves out of their comfort zone to go on the German Exchange to Neuwied, in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.  The school has had an arrangement with the Rhein-Wied Gymnasium (Grammar School) in Neuwied for more than 10 years.

The Tiffin students got to observe German life close at hand, staying with a German family for a week, attending lessons in schools, and (crucially) eating large portions of German food!

They improved their German listening and speaking skills, kept a written diary in German of their efforts, and made great friends. Our hosts were wonderfully welcoming. They organised social gatherings, meals, pool tournaments, and in some cases even drove their Tiffinian guests to the Nürburgring!

We visited the famous Cologne cathedral, climbing to the top to get a view of the city. We went to the Lindt chocolate museum and attempted (with partial success) to escape from an Escape Room alongside the Rhein. We visited the birthplace of Ludvig van Beethoven in Bonn, visited the museum of calculation, and had a pitstop at the home of Haribo!

We went to the Rhein museum, saw the famous Deutsches Eck at the confluence of the Rhein and Moselle rivers.  We also had a monumental snowball fight on the banks of the Rhein in Koblenz.
