Tiffin is delighted to announce that from September 2019, we will admit girls as well as boys into the Sixth Form, allowing the fantastic benefits and quality of Tiffin Sixth Fom to be delivered within a mixed environment. Girls and boys currently in Year 10 are welcome to apply for places by filling in the online application form, which will be available on the website from June. We aim to admit around 80 new students each year to the Sixth Form, and we therefore expect about 40 per year to be girls, giving at least 80 girls in the Sixth Form overall, and representing approximately 20-25% of the total number of Sixth Formers.

Our Sixth Form Open Evening will be on Thursday 4 October 2018 when the academic and extra-curricular opportunities on offer at Tiffin's Sixth Form will be fully explained. Our website highlights the great opportunities at Tiffin, and will be regularly updated over the next few months. You can also follow developments on Twitter@Tiffin_School

The Damnation of Faust at the Barbican

29 September 2017 by

Simon Rattle’s second outing with the LSO, was given a 5 star review in The Times—”As the harps cast their golden glow and a duo of violins soared in sweet song, choirs of children slipped into the hall’s aisles to add their celestial spirit voices to the heavenly music.  When Rattle turned round to conduct the Tiffin Children’s Chorus and Tiffin Boys’ and Girls’ choirs, it felt like a gesture of welcome to everyone in the hall.”

You can listen to the whole performance or scroll to 2:32:31.  Additionally, Simon Rattle, James Day and boys from Tiffin Choir were interviewed here (scroll to 7:56 to see the boys).

Tiffin Boys sing at the Royal Opera House

29 September 2017 by

We were incredibly proud to have the Tiffin Boys’ choir sing in La bohème at the Royal Opera House, alongside the Childrens’ Chorus (a group of primary school children who rehearse weekly at school under our direction).  The children worked incredibly hard and the Royal Opera House were very pleased with them all.  The photo below ‘Parpignol Singing’ (which is the iconic section for the children in the opera) has been posted in numerous reviews, including in Spain!

La bohème is in rep at the Royal Opera House, London, until 10 October, and screened live in cinemas (and repeats around the world at a later date) on Tuesday 3 October.

Ken Olisa OBE presents prizes at Celebration Evening

18 September 2017 by

We were delighted to welcome Ken Olisa OBE as our guest speaker at the event on 14 September 2017. Ken is an extremely successful businessman, and is currently also Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, acting as the Queen’s representative. It was amazing to recall the successes of this year group, and we wish them all the very best as they move on to university or employment and hope they keep in touch through the Tiffin Association, which unites the alumni of the School.

Tiffin judged one of top 100 cricketing schools in the country

18 September 2017 by

The Cricketer Magazine wrote to let us know that in a judging panel to determine the Top 100 cricketing schools in the country, Tiffin School was adjudicated to be one of those schools.  They received 250 submissions this year, and to determine the Top 100 they judged each entry against a set of carefully considered criteria set by The Cricketer.

It really is a great achievement to make it into this year’s guide.  We will appear in their prestigious supplement ‘The Playing Fields Of England: An A-Z Guide To The Summer Game’s Top 100 Schools 2018’ accompanying the December issue of the magazine (hits the newsstand on 24 November).
